国際標準化事業

ISO（国際標準化機構）の役割、位置付けとしては、グローバル化が進む世界経済の中で、円滑に経済取引を行っていくには、相互理解、互換性の確保、消費者利益の確保などを図ることが重要であり、いずれが保証されなくても取引上大きな障害となる恐れがあること、また、新技術・製品の国際的普及のためにも、技術内容が国際的に理解できる形で共有されていることが重要であることから、国際標準化への取り組みは極めて重要であり、日本の経済産業省でも国際標準化戦略目標を定めて、取り組み強化を図っているところです。

こうした背景の下、1974年に日本工業標準調査会（JISC）が、ISO／TC110（産業車両に関する専門委員会）のPメンバー（規格案への投票権を有する）となって以来、本会では1975年のISO／TC110／SC2（安全）分科会（於ポーランド、ワルシャワ）への代表団派遣を皮切りに、ISO／TC110関係の多くの会議に参加し、産業車両に関する国際安全規格の原案作成、改正の審議に積極的に参画し、日本の意見が規格に反映されるよう努めてまいりました。

この間、本会は2001年に名古屋で日本初の開催となるISO／TC110／SC2（安全）会議をホストとして開催し、2004年には、国際物流総合展2004に合わせて、ISO／TC110／SC2／WG11（安定度ワーキンググループ）会議を東京で開催いたしました。また2008年には、本会の創立60周年事業の一環として、ISO／TC110委員会を東京で開催し、ISO3691（産業車両に関する安全規格）改正審議の促進に貢献しております。

このISO3691は1980年に制定された規格の全面改正に向けた審議がようやく終結し、2011年中には発行される予定です。
